Back To School For These Guys
** Freckle Face - 10th Grade **
** Buggy - 9th Grade **
** Monkey Boy - 7th Grade **
Ok so technically this was NOT the first day of school... more like the third week of school, but hey! This momma has had A LOT going on and sometimes we just have to make due. This was the girls' first uniform inspection of the school year though... and don't they look sharp! So proud of all three of these kiddos, they continue to amaze me daily. It's going to be a great year :)

Webelos and Arrow of Light
Monkey Boy earned his Webelos badge, Religious Knot badge and his Arrow of Light at the pack meeting ceremony last week and advanced from the Cub Scouts into the Boy Scouts. Proud of this little Monkey Boy!

Military Man's Homecoming
My friend Josie, of Be Encouraged Photography was kind enough to come photograph our special reunion last month. Here's a few of the images she captured for us. The mustache story goes like this: I told him he couldn't come home with a mustache, so when he landed in the States and joined a commercial flight, he picked up some fakies at the airport kiosk... and had the children surprise me with their own mustaches!
Happy Veterans Day to all those who've served and continue serving. And may God bless their families at home who also sacrifice for their service.
XOXO - Jess

Extra Special Reunion
I seem to be away from blogging and sharing pictures more and more lately... but this time I have a really good excuse - the BEST kind of excuse! Military Man came home from his longest deployment to date and we've simply been enjoying the reunion. I haven't even been taking very many pictures. I'll be back to sharing here on the blog when things settle down and get back to 'normal'.
Happy Monday!

National Flag Day
This is our flag - waving in the welcomed breeze this afternoon.
I had to snap a shot of those clouds because they are the first we've seen in weeks. The temperature has been triple digit degrees for three straight weeks... we cannot wait for monsoon season to come!
Happy Friday and Flag Day!
XOXO - Jessica

Family First
I hung small white boards on the kids' bedroom doors this week - for the purpose of posting their daily chore checklists and other memos. Right away they started doodling, quoting song lyrics, and writing other sayings with their new dry-erase markers.
My favorite surprise was Monkey Boy's clean board with the exception of one small statement scribbled on the bottom of his board. It read:
family first.
I love that he spontaneously wrote this on his board where everyone could see it. I'm such a proud momma. Our kids are awesome and wonderful and such a blessing to our family.
